It was an honour to paint the official portrait of Dr. Daniel Woolf, principal and vice-chancellor of Queen’s University, which was unveiled on 26th April at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, Kingston, Ontario. The celebratory event was a tribute to Dr. Woolf’s 10 years in office and included a concert featuring jazz vocalist Claire Martin and multi-instrumentalist Martin Sjostedt.

The portrait shows him standing in front of his significant collection of antiquarian history books.

It  will be hung in Wallace Hall alongside Principal Woolf’s predecessors and next to Dr. Tom Williams whose portrait I was delighted to paint in 2012.

“It’s superb, Phyllis. We are thrilled! The detail on the books, the robe, etc. is amazing. Congratulations and many thanks.” Dr. Daniel Woolf.

“It’s absolutely wonderful, Phyllis! We can’t thank you enough. You are truly gifted.” Julie Gordon-Woolf
